Notley Welcomes Two New Changemakers In Columbus

Published: November 18, 2022

We’re welcoming our next two individuals to the Changemaker Program in Columbus – Hannah Estabrook of Sanctuary Night and Sangeeta Lakhani of Service!

Over the next year, Notley will distribute $10,000 in unrestricted funding to each individual in support of their organization. In addition, Notley will provide connections, national exposure, and strategic guidance from our growing bench of support to help further their impact, including Bailey Hanley, Columbus Market Director at Notley.

Hannah Estabrook

Hannah Estabrook, MA, LPCC-S, has been working as a clinician in the mental health field for over a decade and most recently worked at the Franklin County Municipal Court as Coordinator of CATCH Court, a Specialized Docket that serves victims of prostitution and human trafficking.

In 2017, she opened Sanctuary Night as a pilot project, in partnership with Lower Lights Ministries. Sanctuary Night offered a safe, consistent environment for women who visited. Once a week – every week – they offered a warm meal, clothing, hygiene items, and a safe place to relax and connect. In 2020, with the help of numerous friends and partners, Sanctuary Night purchased a building on Sullivant Avenue and expanded services to 6 days a week.

In addition to her leadership at Sanctuary Night, Hannah is also co-author of the book Beyond Desolate: Hope vs. Hate in the Rubble of Sexual Abuse, and serves as a pastor of The Abbey.

From the Market Director:

“Hannah has dedicated her career to supporting women in the human trafficking space tirelessly. She has heart and she has grit, true determination. She’s a steady force and has been growing this organization consistently since day one.”

Sangeeta Lakhani

Sangeeta grew up in Mumbai, India, and was raised in a family of avid travelers who instilled in her the importance of experiencing many different cuisines across the globe. She has been in the restaurant business for over 25 years.

Sangeeta was instrumental in the expansion of a popular campus restaurant, Hounddog’s Pizza and the bar adjacent to it, Ravari Room, before co-founding Bodega in 2005. Bodega won several awards over the years from publications such as The Alive, The Other Paper, 614 Magazine, Columbus Monthly, etc. before Sangeeta successfully sold the brand in early 2015. In 2014 she co-founded and created the menu for The Table, a prominent farm to table restaurant in the Short North District of Columbus, Ohio.

In March of 2020, Sangeeta leveraged her network to pivot her existing restaurant into Service! – a relief effort for hospitality workers. She has since then, put out over 11,000 free meals and writes weekly grants for service industry workers financially affected by the ongoing pandemic. As Executive Director of Service!, Sangeeta plans to grow the organizations’ capacity to provide resources and training opportunities for service industry workers.

From the Market Director:

“Those who know Sangeeta would agree she is selfless. She is a leader. She has spunk. She is relentless. She’s got “it”. The community and impact space are ready and looking to support her and now we at Notley are involved in her progress!”
